The Risk and Compliance team is responsible for ensuring that the firm meets its regulatory and statutory obligations, reducing risk, and achieving overall compliance.
The firm is seeking an experienced Risk and Compliance Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. Your main role will be to support the firm in achieving compliant file opening, particularly in relation to Client Due Diligence (CDD) procedures. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to various projects and enhance your skills and knowledge in other areas.
Role Responsibilities:
- Reviewing the CDD information provided by lawyers for clients, and seeking clarification or additional information from lawyers when necessary.
- Directly obtaining CDD from clients and explaining the firm’s requirements to them.
- Approving or rejecting CDD and providing guidance to lawyers.
- Creating client profiles as needed.
- Managing filing and completing risk assessments.
- Reporting on trends related to CDD queries to identify ongoing training needs.
- Assisting in the continuous monitoring of high-risk clients and maintaining the high-risk register.
- Conducting sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEP), and adverse media checks for all clients and counterparties using Accuity, and performing any other necessary checks.
- Conducting “reverse” sanctions checks by obtaining new sanctions lists, running the names through the database, and reporting on the results.
