The Chelmsford Legal Walk 2023

Last week our Director, Arron Rampling, and Lisa Edwards, headed to Chelmsford to take part in the Chelmsford Legal Walk 2023.

Walkers set off on a 10km walk around Chelmsford, in beautiful sunshine! The Chelmsford Legal Walk is an annual event, held every year to raise money for and promote awareness of access to justice. Money raised feeds back into local services such as Citizen’s Advice Chelmsford.

Arron Rampling has sat on the Chelmsford Legal Walk committee for two years. Rampling Clarke also sponsor the event, alongside Fisher Jones Greenwood, Anglia Ruskin University, and Trinity Chambers. It’s an event that we love to be a part of, and a chance for us to show our support for something we feel very passionate about.

The 10km route, starting and ending at Trinity Chambers in Chelmsford, took walkers into the countryside and along the river Can.

The walk was lead by lead walker, His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Essex is Mrs Jennifer Tolhurst. Jennifer is the first woman to be appointed to the office in the county since it was established in the 1500s. Jennifer Tolhurst spoke to the walkers about why we walk, and Russ Mynot from Citizen’s Advice explained how and where the funds go.

Finally, Fundraiser, Shaun Rayner MBE, raised £1000.00 for the Chelmsford Legal Walk. The biggest donation from an individual we’ve seen! So a big thank you to Shaun for your hard work.

Donations haven’t stopped coming in, even after the walk took place. We are pleased to share that the total amount raised this year currently stands at £6072. An amazing amount that will feed into local services and support local people.

Arron Rampling, Director of Rampling Clarke and member of the Chelmsford Legal Walk 2023 committee, said: “It’s such an amazing event to be part of and I feel privileged to sit on the committee. To see the Chelmsford Legal walk grow each year has been incredible. I’d personally like to thank the other committee members and all of the walkers (even fluffy ones) for taking part this year and raising over £6k for local legal services. Amazing work."
